I studied Accounting & Finance at university. In my final year at Edinburgh I developed a real interest in computers and, after completing my degree, went on to study computing further, achieving two Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) qualifications.

Following this, I did some freelance work for the Scottish Sage Accounting Centre where I was quickly taken on full time. At the Sage Accounting Centre I was involved in a variety of migrations, as Sage had recently acquired other software providers Hartley, CSM and Apex. I jumped in feet first being involved in installations, migrations, training and ongoing support. At the same time I was implementing IT networks from the ground up for clients based on Windows 2000. I really enjoyed designing and implementing networks on which Accountants could run their software.

In 2003, I formed Lugo (then ScotICT) with the backing of a few clients that were willing to work with me, on the basis we would not be a one man band forever! My ambition was set and we have been growing and helping all sorts of businesses since then.

I live in Linlithgow in West Lothian which is a great little town with a real community spirit and have three children with my wife Ciara. When I am not busy at work, I am busy at home with the family……or DIY!!!
