What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is the UK Government’s recommended baseline standard for the security of your company data and users from the National Cyber Security Centre, Part of GCHQ: https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/cyberessentials/overview
This self-assessment certification gives you protection against a wide variety of the most common cyber attacks. This is important because vulnerability to simple attacks can mark you out as a target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and others.
Taking your Cyber Security Seriously
Being Cyber Essentials certified means you have taken a broad set of steps to ensure you have secured your ICT infrastructure and users from the most common types of cyber attacks. You can search by name to find organisations holding a Cyber Essentials Certificate issued in the last 12 months here: https://iasme.co.uk/cyber-essentials/ncsc-certificate-search/
Having achieved Cyber Essentials certification also gives your prospective and existing clients comfort in knowing that you take the security of your ICT Infrastructure and data seriously, and have proven so by going through the certification process.
